What sets your soul on fire?

I would like to promote a challenge to you all today. The challenge is to do what sets your soul on fire, everyday. I know it seems like a simple challenge, but it is quite alarming how easily we stray away from our passions and the things that make us happy.

We spend more time investing in things we care nothing about instead of taking time to pursue our passions.

Why is that?

Why be passionate about something but not dedicate any time to it? I think we live in a world that allows us to believe that our passions and talents don't matter if we don't produce immediate fruit, an immediate platform, a large following, or lots of money.

Well I come to encourage you that whatever sets your soul on fire is part of your character. Your passions, talents and dreams are the essence of who you are so if you don't put time into building those parts of you, eventually that fire will go dim.

Have you ever heard the saying "if you don't use it, you lose it"? Well, I believe that with all my heart. Eventually, the things that set your soul on fire today will die out if you don't keep adding fuel and blowing on the fire.

Although you may believe you're too busy or not good enough in whatever it is, you have to keep pressing into your essence/your character. Build yourself up!

You don't have to have anything but the fire that burns within to make it count. For me, I have been struggling with getting back to dance and I so desperately want to but I haven't put in the time and I am constantly telling myself that I am not good enough. In reality, dance is what helps me be creative and expressive, so if I am not tending to that passion I will not be able to grow in that area.

So, start this challenge today. You don't have to sign yourself up for a dance competition or anything of that nature, but at least put some time to the side to fuel what sets your soul on fire. Even 30 minutes a day can make a difference!
