Hello Dreamers,
I have missed you all very much. I know we haven’t chatted for some time now and for that I am sorry. I wanted to check in and post a little encouragement for your day.
If you are reading this, I want you to know that every little part of who you are matters! There are some things God has woven in us for his glory. Those deep desires that we can’t escape or ignore, are pieces of our makeup.
I’ve been reading a devotional titled What on Earth Am I Here For by Rick Warren and the sum of this devotional is to remind us that we are created by God with a purpose in mind and each of us hold something unique on the inside that only we each carry.
This devotional includes some deep questions that provoke thought about our desires, our history, and what makes our heart beat. To be honest no matter how many times I answer questions about what I like I start with “I don’t know” but soon after I find myself creating long lists of desires that I somehow burry over and over again.
The really awesome thing about having these self assessment moments is seeing the consistency in the things you’re passionate about. For me, I’ve always had a passion for dance.
I know I have spoken about this passion in past blogs or perhaps on other social media platforms but it is truly something I can’t escape.
My heart yearns to dance and for so long I wasted my gift by hiding it or trying so hard to prove to others that I can do it that I lost my zeal, but even in those moments I hear the echo of drums beating in my heart. I feel rhythms of the earth beneath my feet. There is always a melody playing in my head.
It wasn’t until a few years ago I began to rededicate my gift of dance back to God. I no longer try to prove myself, instead I just let myself flow. Each time I move I feel freedom and I believe God has and will use my gift of dance to speak encouragement to others; that they too can be free.
So , my question to you is what does your passion keep leading you back to and how can you dedicate that desire to God? How can you glorify the one who has placed that desire in your heart? Maybe it’s something small like writing a blog to encourage others or maybe it’s something huge like recording a video of you flowing in your gift.
Whatever it is, use it for the glory of God and he will allow you to tap into depths that you never knew existed. Be encouraged , you have something to offer!
