Broken Crayons Still Color

Have you felt inadequate because something in you or about you is broken? Well I have good news for you, even broken crayons still color.

Every person has a story to tell.

Some stories seem smaller than others, but each story carries the same value and deserves to be acknowledged, in the right timing. Some stories leave invisible scars, emotional and psychological trauma, some leave physical scars, some causes us to put up walls to keep others away, some scars misconstrue our perception of reality and some are buried so deep that we become numb to the reality that those scars exist. In the midst of all that life can throw at us, very few of us expect to come out on the other side as a broken person. Matter of fact, we probably hope to be able to repress our insecurities and ignore our demons so that we can feel safe and normal.

The danger in ignoring your scars or your story is that you don't acknowledge that just because you are broken doesn't mean you are not valuable or that you are less than all the other crayons in the crayon box.

Ironically, once we accept that we are broken people, we will see not only are we not alone but we will also see that God uses some of the most dynamically broken people in history to complete his will. Don't get me wrong, God does not have favorites and we all have purpose, whether we are broken or no. The great thing about broken people is that once they accept they are broken, they learn to depend more on God. What a delight it must be to have God use us in such a way that it surpasses or disabilities, brokenness, and weaknesses. All throughout the bible, God used people who were willing to be used in the midst of their brokenness. They realized they still had the ability to color, they still had the ability to bring light into this world by trusting God. God can and wants to use you, because you are still of value to him. Submit your brokenness to him and allow him to be strong in your weakness.

Outside of many biblical examples of God using broken people, look over your life and see how God may have used you in situations that you may not have the qualifications to fulfill the tasks, but you were able to because of the Grace of God. Look at me, I am broken person and have known about my brokenness since I was a young girl. I'm not fit or qualified to be writing these blogs to you all, I'm not trained to be a leader, but God chose to use me and I eventually submitted to allowing him to use me in spite of my brokenness. Why? What God wants to do in your life is greater than just you. He wants to cause an overflow from your cup to someone else's cup. Your brokenness doesn't mean you are inadequate, it means you have room to be used. No matter how great or small your story, YOU have room to be used by God and that is such great news. There is a God who loves you on a personal level and wants to spread his love through you to others. Share that love and that light. Don't shrink yourself because you are afraid of what others may think or that you feel like your'e not good enough. God did not make a mistake when he created you and he did not make a mistake when he planted a purpose in you.

Let me tell you something about fear and low-self esteem. Fear can cripple you and cause you to become stagnant or it can cause you to run to the Lord for help. Everyone can feel fear, that is normal because we are just human but that's why we need God, our supernatural father to operate in us and through us, because he can make us bold through his love and strength. Lastly, some of you feel there is more you want to do with your life, but you have allowed fear and low self-esteem stop you from going forward. It's okay, I have and sometimes still am in that place, but God is such a gracious and forgiving God. He can meet you right where you are in your life and set you on the path of righteousness and HE can use you and give you a sense of boldness.

Trust him! Ezekiel 16:6 " ‘Then I passed by and saw you kicking about in your blood, and as you lay there in your blood I said to you, “Live!
